About Max Your Trip
Hi, I’m Matt, the founder of Max Your Trip.
I’ve always believed that travelling well isn’t just about spending more money – it’s about making smarter choices. Whether that’s finding the best value flight, earning enough airline miles for a business class upgrade, avoiding unnecessary airport charges or discovering a travel tool that makes life easier, I’m always looking for ways to maximise every trip.
Over the last 20 years, I’ve developed a passion for airline loyalty programmes, hotel rewards and travel hacks. What started as collecting a few airline miles has grown into a hobby that has helped my family enjoy memorable trips in premium cabins to destinations including Hong Kong, Dubai, Singapore, Bangkok, Cape Town, Boston and Las Vegas, often for a fraction of the normal cost.
I’ve also travelled extensively for work, taking well over 1,000 flights, including more than 700 with British Airways and KLM alone. Along the way I’ve earned long-term elite status with both airlines and gained first-hand experience of everything from economy class carry-on to first class premium lounges. That means I understand the priorities of both business travellers and families looking to get the best value from their travel budget.
Friends, family and colleagues have long known me as the person to ask when it comes to planning holidays, earning airline miles or finding the best travel deals. Max Your Trip grew from that passion.
Professionally, my background is in business insight and data-driven analysis. I bring those same skills to Max Your Trip by carrying out original research, comparing travel products and loyalty schemes, and creating practical guides that are based on evidence rather than marketing claims.
All our articles are written by humans (not AI) and cover airline and hotel loyalty programmes, airport lounges, rail travel, travel tools, credit card rewards and money-saving travel tips. Wherever possible, I aim to test ideas myself, analyse the data and explain things in a clear, practical way.
My goal is simple: to help you save money, earn more rewards and make the most of every trip.
Matt
