Heathrow Rewards: Complete Guide to Earning & Spending Points
Heathrow Rewards is the loyalty scheme of (no prizes for guessing) Heathrow Airport. Collect points for spending and then you can cash them in for vouchers to spend at the airport or transfer them to various frequent flyer schemes, including Avios.
What’s more is that you can double-dip by collecting Heathrow Rewards points as well as scanning cards from the likes of Boots Advantage, Costa Coffee Club and Club Avolta (World Duty Free).
At one point in my career, I was transiting through Heathrow around four times a month, normally eating either breakfast or dinner on each occasion, so the spend mounted up and Heathrow Rewards was really beneficial for me.
Points Earning
-
- 1 point per £ on most spend in the terminal (ie shopping, dining, drinks)
- 1 point per £ on pre-booked Official Heathrow parking
- 1 point per £ on Heathrow Express tickets purchased at heathrowexpress.com or on the Heathrow Express app
- 1 point per £10 on currency exchange
- Heathrow also offers regular bonus points promotions at various retailers.Â
What is Heathrow Rewards Premium?
If you spend more than £750 or more in a calendar year, you will be upgraded to the Heathrow Rewards Premium Tier where you will receive double points on all spend for the rest of that year and throughout the following year. £750 annual spend is required to maintain platinum status afterwards.
How to Double Dip with Heathrow Rewards
Alongside your Heathrow Rewards card, you can also scan other loyalty cards as part of the same transaction in the following stores:
- Boots (Boots Advantage)
- Costa Coffee (Costa Club)
- Harrods (Harrods Rewards)
- JD Sports (JD Status)
- World Duty Free (Club Avolta)
Unfortunately, you cannot collect M&S Sparks, Pret A Manger Perks or Starbucks Rewards Stars at Heathrow. Starbucks website says “We’re working hard with our stores to make Starbucks Rewards available” although apart from the obvious financial cost, you might question what is stopping them doing this.
Spending your Heathrow Rewards Points
Frequent Flyer Miles
- When you reach 250 points, you can exchange them for frequent flyer miles. Â

Shopping Vouchers
- When you reach 500 points, you can exchange these for a £5 voucher to spend at Heathrow shopping, dining & services.
- Exchanges need to be in multiples of 500 points.
- Alternatively 500 points can be exchanged for £10 off pre-booked Heathrow Parking.
Other things to note
- There are some exclusions, you will not earn points on purchases of items such as tobacco, baby formula or postage stamps
- Points expire 36 months after the last earning transaction
